It’s free and there are no food or drink minimums ever for open mic shows at Mad House Comedy Club.
Is it free for a reason?
Yes. It’s an open mic, so it’s literally “open” to anyone in the world that might want to go on stage including people who are quite insane.
Is it a fun show?
It depends on your pain tolerance. There are lots of comedians who are very funny practicing new material. There are new comedians who are terrible but they’re new, so they’re supposed to be awful and it’s kind of cute to watch them slowly die onstage. There are people who will make you cringe and decide it’s a great time to use the restroom and then there are comics who are so incredibly bad that it’s actually hilarious.
The open mic is my favorite show. If you’re the type of person who doesn’t want to know how the sausage is made, then it’s probably not for you. If you’re the type of person who’d like to know the shocking truth of how stand up comedy really starts… this is your new home.
